Little Baba Nyonya Pageant

In an old town, stood a new Straits Baba house

The gilded doors swung open and out came three little nyonyas.

One littlest nyonya in Qing gown with phoenix cape and bejeweled Malaccan
bridal headdress with two nyonya ladies-in-waiting in sarong kebaya

The winners of the Little Baba Nyonya Pageant.

First prize winner is the little Malaccan nyonya bride in the middle,
and the other runner-up also in Qing chinese nyonya wedding dress.
Harlequin green seems to be the winning colour, with all three runners-up
dressed in that pretty shade for their kebaya.

Nyonya Lillian Tong
invited to judge the Little Baba Nyonya Pageant

The judges, Nyonya Anna, Baba Michael Cheah, and Nyonya Lillian Tong.

Nyonya Irene Ho lovingly dressed and dolled up her granddaughter for the Pageant.
The fortunate little girl went on to win the first prize.

A little Malaccan Nyonya bride, decked in a wealth of diamonds, glittering beads, with
gold and silver florets to match the brilliance of her phoenix cape and crowning her head.

The Little Baba Nyonya Pageant winners.

The parade of Little Baba Nyonya contestants.

Notice the littlest katek nyonya coming out through the door on the left . . .

The amazing array of children with flair, artistry and aptitude
who sang, danced, recited pantuns in the talent category.

Apple and Lime decides to play a game of spinning their handkerchiefs to
ease the tension of waiting of the results to be announced.

This Baba does a magic trick on Pinang Peranakan Mansion's flyer -
and won a place as a finalist.

Now they are richer than when they started off this afternoon!
