A royal outing with my son . . .
This is the Old Palace. It makes an interesting visit, but no photography is allowed inside. There are stately drawing rooms for the King to receive the Prime Minister, and Ambassadors. The Queen has her own drawing room too!
The private quarters for royalty has a large bedroom that is surrounded by the 'jungle' outside, plenty of greens and trees. I particularly like the bathrooms, with golden bars to hold on to get into the deep pool bath. And wardrobe filling an entire room!
Everything inside is very stately, with nice furnishings and trimmings, fit for a King.
I am dressed in yellow, the royal colour, for my royal visit to the Old Palace. I have always wanted to visit the Royal Museum in Kuala Lumpur, especially to view the exhibition put up for the coronation of our new Yang Di Pertuan Agong in 2017.
So here I am!
Surrounded by Kings and their Consort.
This Royal Exhibition of DYMM Sultan Muhammad V
is housed in an annexe building. Here, photography is
allowed.
The exhibition is well laid out.
Sultan Mohammad V of Kelantan
Interesting!
Did I know that Conference of Rulers was originally called The Durbar Conference? No, not until I attended the Tourist Guide licensing classes!

Commemorative Coronation philatelic
minting of first day covers and stamps
Oh NO!
I totally missed out on this collection!

This is the Seal of the Rulers.
Under Lock and key.
Malay Annals.
I would love to read this!
It was very interesting that the newspapers reported that our King appeared very engrossed and awed by the proceedings of his coronation. The STAR wrote that it is very refreshing to have a young ruler who is interested in all the historical and courtly pomp and pageantry going on around him at his Coronation.
The King and I.
The exhibition ends on 4 September, 2017.
