United Nations World Tourism Organisation: Global Summit on Urban Tourism

The United Nations World Tourism Organisation: 6th Global Summit on Urban Tourism

I received a personal invited by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.  And its complimentary!

So I packed my bags and headed to Kuala Lumpur to attend the United Nations World Tourism Organisation's meeting, held at the Majestic Hotel. Here I am, at breakfast with the MOTAC performing arts troupe, all dressed in the various ethnic costumes of Malaysia . . .  and I in my sarong Kebaya, representing the Straits Chinese Baba Nyonya ethnic group.

I left them to await the arrival of the Federal Minister, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, and Taleb Rifai, the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation

Tekat.  This piqued my interest as it uses the same technique the nyonyas use to embroider the earlier kasot tongkang nyonya slippers

His Excellency Mr Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.

Who had a great time cooking up curry in the nyonya's kitchen!

Mr Taleb Rifai and I met last year at the World Tourism Conference, and he remembers the unforgettable tour he had in Penang.

This is also his final goodbye, as he will be retiring from his position the coming year.

Adding petals for a perfumed foot spa

How sweet! These girls remember me from last year!
