Royal Kingdom of Thailand

Welcome to Beautiful Thailand
The Land of Smiles.  Indeed!

Upon arrival, I get to pick a big box of Christmas! Reindeers on a shallow golden creek skipping to the giant lighted and beribboned Christmas tree brought to mind the chorus,  ". . . as a deer pants for the waters, so my soul longs for thee (God) . . ."

This must be a beautifully manicured Thai Christmas tree, decorated with strings and tassels of fresh pearls of white flowers, and chrysanthemums. How artfully handcrafted.

These beautiful ladies from the Royal Thai Embassy, in their equally lovely golden blush Thai costumes, greeted invited guests. All of them donned various tints of gold.  I asked, and was informed that gold is the colour of their (and my) beloved King Bhumibol.

A lovely spread of intricately hand carved fruits welcomes guests to the event.

A kind friend, His Excellency, Royal Kingdom of Thailand's Ambassador, Khun Narong Sasitorn.

My happiest moment! I love colours! And painted umbrellas! What a kaleidoscope, presented by the Royal Thai Embassy and Thai Tourism Board.

A range of hues to pick from! These are hand painted by the artist on the right, and is gifted to all guests at the end of the night's celebration.   I love this! What a surprise! What a treasure!

More beautiful greetings fill the foyer

The Thais are celebrating the Birthday Anniversary of their late monarch, the much loved and respected His Majesty King Bhumibol, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as Thailand's Father's Day.  The late King is a father to his subjects. He loved them dearly, and deservingly, they loved him back reverently.

I made a new friend.  He is a diplomat and like most, wears the country's insignia or badge on their suits.  I was understandably excited to find out the country he represents . . .
North Korea!!!

Welcome to Malaysia!  The Ambassador of Senegal just arrived in Kuala Lumpur and took office two days ago.

These are some of the chefs who laid out a grand spread of Thai delectables.
