Life in the Time of Covid-19

Day 1
18 March 2020

Went to my Hillside Bungalow to tidy up the garden.  I ran the lawn mover a wire.  It made some strange guttural noise, died and gave up the ghost.  I saw its life departing in whips of smoke escaping from the vents of the motor.

Moved to front garden and hoed sapling weed trees sprouting on my lawn.  Phew! The physical hard work feels so good and puts me in a very good mood.  Especially when I 'conquered' one at a time and see it felled,  vanquished at my feet.  The roots are incredibly difficult to dislodge.  They held hard and fast to their staked ground.

Three hours into the lovely morning, between the maid and I,  we have weeds, tangles and brown leaves all bagged.

But then this garden is and has always been like a spring.  Birds sing and spoke to and from the trees in birdsong and chirps.  Pleasant, my warm, comfy zone.  A place of remedy and to refresh the soul.

Time spent just admiring and appreciating and working in the garden never fails to refresh my soul and fill my heart with joy, the most wonderful sense of well being.

Back home, I took care and time to lay out lunch on Spodes.

Then edited and filed my 4000 photos in my Mac and delete a fraction of the 23,000 on my phone.
