Organised an Agro Tourism River Cruise at Tasek Gelugor Fam trip, mooted as the Covid19 lockdown in Malaysia has adversely affected the income and business of tour guides, tour agents, operators, and tourist attractions.
We boarded a boat at tPengkalan Machang Jetty. The boat took us upriver on Prai River to Labuh Banting Jetty where kampong folks demonstrated a variety of local delectables such as peknga and ikan pekasam.
Seberang Perai already has tourism products in place. To advertise and promote the beautiful natural scenery, food and crafts, it is important to connect and familiarize tour guides and tour agents to publicize, create awareness, and market the product, Seberang Perai tourism, to locals, and in future, inbound tourists.
To generate and stimulate local tourism, Ms Lillian partnered with Tourism Malaysia, PERDA and MOTAC for a familiarisation tour to develop a Seberang Perai tourism package. Tour agents, tour guides, the media, newspapers and bloggers are invited for this volunsharing fam trip, to connect tour guides and agencies with the local tourism partners - boatmen, village food caterer, craftsmen) with the view of assisting all involved in the iSeberang Perak River Cruise Industry.
