Jewish Synagogue Quarter

Red post box.  Stone water pots.  Mandalay Hall.

Angels abound.
They were peering down from the window above and elsewhere.

Familiar Chinese bowls found in Cochin!

The Jewish Synagogue.
Photography not allowed inside, so I can't quite remember how it is inside,
except that it has got really antique oil nice lamps hanging from the ceilings
and Ming blue and white tiles with Chinese story pictures on them.

We adore these patchwork elephants but they weigh a ton and we have no more flight baggage allowance to bring them home with us.

Exquisite cochin lace  from a cooperative. These are made by widows of fishermen.

Hanukkah fine embroidery.  Jewess lace maker.  68 bobbin hooked lace.
Little Queen Embroidery.  Petit point with 2100 points in one petal.

Explored a narrow staircase and unexpectedly discovered this Ming Blue restaurant
with Anglo-Dutch-Sino-Indian interior.  Windows over the vividly painted shophouses
along the street outside.  Had the BEST fried prawns for lunch.

English Dressers and Tiffins!  Antiques very similar to what we have at home,
coming from a shared British Colonial India-Portugese history
